Alright. Scones don’t use yeast, but it’s still baking. I love to eat baked things for breakfast and scones are so easy to make!
1 3/4 cups all purpose flour
2 1/4 baking powder
1 tablespoon sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1 stick butter (8 tbsp) cold
1/4 cup milk
1/4 cup sour cream
2 tsp zest of orange
1/4 cup candied ginger chopped
Using a mixer, put the dry ingredients the bowl.
Chop up the cold butter in 1/2 inch pieces and mix until crumbly.
Mix in candied ginger. I love the “Hello my name is” tags. I got the idea from Joy the Baker.
Roll or pat out to about 3/4 inch thick on a floured counter. If dough is sticky, add a little more flour but it should be soft and slightly tacky.
